initially alfonso muskedunder was just the nickname for my newborn son alf, but the character soon started leading it s own life. interpreted for this single by a bunch of good people, such as deetron (jazzy-ish housey-ish), bullion (main vocal funky latin house mix... or not. it s vocal though), mungolian jetset (acid mambo deep in the forest, quattro formaggio pizza style) and the mysterious tangoterje (dub mambo especial), the icing on the cake finally came in the form of a fully animated music video courtesy of bendik kaltenborn and espen friberg. kind of tricky to explain exactly what goes on in that one, guess you have to see for yourself...

a.1: rampage is an explosive toolish techno tune, that submerges in a dark but atmosferic radiance with heavy pulsating drums and bass lines that engulfes into total deepness. a track frull of atitude. b.1 chase on the flippside is another straight forward thinking production, that overcomes with overdimensional chords and with an intelligent funky sequence that wraps you in again and again.

victor calderone has stepped up for his first solo release on drumcode with his two track single, burden. featuring two energetic tracks, *skin* and *burden*, victor has used effected vocals to create funky rhythms over the top of some steaming kick drums. the synth stabs lend themselves well across this ep particularly in *burden* where they really augment the flow of the track. the use of percussion phrases throughout both tracks on the single also reinforces the grooves and adds character to create a distinctive sound that keeps the single fresh and exciting.

armando gallop, the legendary chicago producer & dj whose career was tragically cut short by his death in 1996 left behind a legendary reputation as one of the windy citys finest. having released on seminal labels such as, trax, musique, westbrook and his own warehouse imprint, armando brought his own rough hewn brand of machine funk and acid to the table and the dance music world has been much better off for it since.

the phantom is older than you think, both figuratively and literally. his debut on vinyl was on *it s my mike* by the funky force 2 back in 1987 on amanda records. in 1988 he recorded as part of the group the force and recorded *the mission* with the producer powercut. he is probably best known for being one of the main mcs in cult group dynametrix, who released an ep in 1991 and an lp in 1994 called *a measure of force* on kold sweat records. he also appeared on three tracks on the unsung heroes lp *unleashed* as well as appearing with tom dice on *thug killer*.
